don't go top of the range, instead go for mid range. Plenty of good makes available and at not much extra wedge.
As someone down there says many manufacturers have a so called budget range that are basically the same as the brand name. For example Courier tyres are in fact Pirelli. It's finding out which is which that is the hard bit
Most tyres are a compromise of some sort. You can have excellent grip but the road noise will be loud and they may not last too long.
You can have long lasting but they tend to be very hard and may not have the same grip levels.
A good rule of thumb is to go for a similar type to the ones that the manufacturer fits but as I say usually no need to go for top of the range especially when it comes to speed rating, you don`t need tyres that will do 150 mph, unless you do.
