Wrath Knowledge - can I please tap into? Car Tyres......

Is it worth paying ?250/?300 for a couple of 'brand names' - i.e. Firestone, Brigdewater rather than ?160/?170 for a couple of mid range tyres, when you don't really do many miles each year?
