Depends really how hard you are on them. Tends to make more sense putting 'good' tyres

on high-performance cars as there are specific cars suited to certain tread patterns, degradation etc.

In a lot of cases, companies like Michelin, Pirelli have their own mid-range tryes at a lesser price.
