our whole approach seems to have been based on two assumptions:

1. he would not agree to go to QPR under any circumstances
2. Celtic would be desperate not to lose him for nothing and would therefore be forced to accept our offer

Looks like at least one of those assumptions was false (unless this is simply a desperate attempt from Celtic and Hooper to force a higher bid from us, which seems unlikely).
