I aren't getting into this debate for long but
I always thought Hamilton didn't get any money, or the players he wanted. So in the end you got the 6 freebies who were like you say "awful"
But think of it in a different way, without money, what would we have got?
We'd have got Holt cos he was Hamiltons buy
?100,000
We'd have got Clint Easton cos he was ?100,000
They'd have been no Rivers for ?650,000
No Emblen for ?500,000
No Drury for ?500,000
Without the cash injection, would we have seen the same side that got promoted?
I really don't think so
I have made this point ooodles of times on here even when worthy was a very popular manager here
He has lived off boardroom support and when things have gone bad for him, a bit of money has boosted the side and morale
Something managers before worthington did get, and in the end they bore the brunt of the fans and got the sack
I don't say Hamilton was a great manager, but I certainly don't see worthington as one either
