Met Office's model verifies second behind the ECM at Reading

Both are better than the Yanks' abysmal GFS. The UK really is the centre of the world for numerical weather prediction.
In general though, the Met Office's short and mid-term forecasting is exceptionally good despite all the bollocks you read in the Express/Mail etc.
