Players like Francis come and go in football.

Francis was one of NW's lucky signings. NW needed to replace him, but he did not have a clue who would and how he would replace him.

NW's problem is not that Francis left (as that sort of thing happens in football), but that he did not, and didn't have a clue how to replace him.
