How can it be pretentious when it wad what it was, a film about american teenage students in the 80's acted by american teenaers in the 80's? Just what WAS it trying to be that makes it pretentious??? Not being highbrow or political doesnt make it pretentious. Its quite enjoyable and brings 5 different characters who hate each other together by sharing thebsame experience
