Perspective

All these false dichotomies and straw men!

Hughton's system tightened up our defence but a combination of sitting deeper and our strikers being off the boil means we've scored less. Two new strikers in January restores an option Simeon and 1R have failed us with - 2 front men in a 4-4-2 or 4-4-3. Hughton said he'd have gone for 2 upfront yesterday, I also thought he said Wes would still have played and for many of our home games I think we'll see more of that, perhaps with Kamara and Becchio. Play away and it will always be 4-5-1, perhaps nurturing Holt for that role.

Personally think that's smart as the squad clearly lacks depth, take any out of Rudd, Bassong, Johnson, Tettey, Snodgrass, Wes and Holt and we struggle - and all have to play top of their game. When all present, and all on top of their game then we look good - that first half against Spurs was superb. Take a couple out, and the others not on top of their game and we get turgid performances like yesterday's. He can solve that, but not overnight, so we need patience and to stop thinking that the bad games are how it will always be. Lose sight of that perspective, and we're no better than the dickheads running Forest or Blackburn - or even Chelsea.

As for the Canary caller yesterday describing Hughton as 'diabolical' and the 'worst Norwich manager ever', I hope he feels a real t**t today. As someone tweeted yesterday: Bryan Gunn, Glen Roeder, Peter Grant, Nigel Worthington and Bryan Hamilton - does anyone really think they were better!?!?!
