Failed to stay up by the skin of our teeth - after (a) he'd played the wrong midfield for two thirds of the season and (b) after his transfer dealings had been proved to be really dodgy.

Then after 16 games of the next season when we are 20th because (a) he's playing the wrong midfield and (b) his transfer dealings are looking really dodgy.
