Actually I think I mainly suggested that because I want one. But agree with you that you'd have to spend more than he plans to to get something nice and also reliable. (I've had a quick look, and they're more expensive than I thought - only found one half-decent s-speed for under ?250, and even that doesn't look like one you'd really want,)
