I've had a couple of games pencilled in this year, but when it came near the time, it was going to cost me ?150 for the day rather than the ?80-?100 I'm usually ok with spending

In yourself, you already know that ?80-?100 is too much, but you get to live it up with your mates for a day, so it's worth it. ?150 though? a) too much, and b) it'll just be you +1, the others who normally find the cash will dwindle away and spending that on their families
