Relatively speaking, no it wasn't!

Bloody important, bloody brilliant, wonderful in many ways.

But in the pantheon of sport? There are greater achievements on a sporting level every year. Achievements which were tougher, more unlikely, against greater competition and odds. It was probably the least remarkable postwar World Cup win too.

At home against 15 other competitors? How does that compare, for example to winning the world's greatest golf tournament against 100 others? The world's greatest bike race against 190 others? How do you define the greatness of an achievement?
