but the difference with the 16 team Euros is that you get unpredictable groups. Group B and C both have three quality teams, Group A and D are both fairly evenly matched as well.

In the world cup you can predict which two teams will progress from most groups, barring the odd shock. Most world cup groups have a large range in quality, the Euro groups generally seem a lot tighter.
