Redknapp definitely did NOT resurrect Spurs

they came 5th two years running under Jol (and would have got 4th one year if not for Lasagne-gate) who spent less money.

Redknapp improved the team in Ramos's immediate aftermath, but that was only because a lot of the players hated Ramos and deliberately stopped playing for him (see AVB at Chelsea). In that situation you don't have a be a great manager to turn things around you just have to not be the previous bloke (so the players 'magically' start playing better by virtue of actually trying).

On that basis Di Matteo has transformed Chelsea in Redknapp-like fashion, and when Hodgson did the same job as Di Matteo at Baggies he clearly demonstrated himself to be a better manager.
