don't even know if it was ever so to be honest. professor expert from greenwich maritime doo dar said so on that bbc this morning. he reckons that the current thinking is that sorting out groups by gender and age slows down the evac process and can create an extra dynamic when families are forcibly split up. the accepted practice now is an orderly evacuation in a first come first served basis.
