Professional athletes are by far some of the worst gamblers.

You would think they have a lot of inside knowledge on the strengths and weaknesses of a team but the truth is the stat nerds are the only ones who can objectively quantify the matchup strength of a team vs another team.

High vig markets such as sportsbetting are only beatable because (a) pricing errors by the bookmakers/market and (b) a huge pool of idiot gamblers.
