I would, but the old one is dead

it'd been wobbling for ages: when its startup time went beyond 30mins I left it running most of the time. That got gradually worse whenever i did switch it off - and on Monday I forgot I'd switched it on until I went to the PC 2hrs later and it was still starting up. So i wazzed round to Currys at 10-to-closing and bought the cheapest one they had, which at 40 notes still wasn't exactly cheap.

Arse. The only thing I haven't tried is taking out the microfilter and plugging straight into the socket. Got to be worth a try, tho I'm not confident.
