Seriously, though, our MD at work did the same - he went back to his old router and it's twice as fast as the new one was.
I'd take the Belkin back, explain the problem to 'em and probably get a netgear or somesuch. If there are any smaller computer shops near you (instead of pcw**k/currys/dickheads) go there, you'll get better advice and support
