For all those who thought my story this morning was bollocls

Unfortunately it's 100% true.
This is latin america, people have extensive families which means (Jim) that they have more than 1 f**king uncle ffs.
I'm an adopted part of this extended family so I know all of the people involved and they're angry/upset/embarassed/relieved their mum isn't in IC.

But thank you anyway for your totally unwarranted and baseless cynicism.

here's the story again so some of you can say it's utter bollocks and a myth all over again.

my mate's nephew (about 9yrs old) was at home alone and he received a phone call from his uncle telling him that his mum had been hit by a car and was in intensive care at the hospital.

Obviously the kid was very upset and his uncle said that they urgently needed to cover the medical costs to save her so the lad should collect any cellphones, money, jewelry, laptops, electronics etc and take it to X place, and hand it over to his "uncle", which he did since he was obviously s**tting himself.

He got back home and his mum and dad were there waiting for him, both alive and well of course.

First time I've ever heard of this c**t's trick, but apparently this very common scam is called the Uncle's Tale.
