The filter is many, many years earlier than when they reach that level, but

not "can't be arsed". When you read such a high level it all comes down to extremely hard work, dedication and attitude. Same with any sport in the world.

It's very true that for every top class athlete there are hundreds, maybe thousands in the world who could have been better than him.

(and now and again, doping)
