Here's my attempt to answer it: Manyoo, Chelsea, Man City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Newcastle, Spurs, Stoke, Everton, Villa. Probably QPR.

So if that were right, it would mean half the table are possible candidates for relegation.

Feels positive, that, as you say. Although no idea whether other seasons would have felt very different to that.
