Get an external mouse and disable the touchpad. Only a few quid for a wireless one.
I do that with every laptop I use, because mousepads are horrid. You'll be catching mouse buttons or the pad with the heel of your palm, the ball of your thumb, even if you don't realise your doing it. Or, and this happened to me with an old Sony Vaio I had off work some years ago, you'll be applying very slightly too much pressure to the CASING NEXT TO THE MOUSEPAD, WHICH IS ACTIVATING THE SENSORS ARRRRRGHHHH.
This s**t is more serious that rioting/looting. The maker of mousepads need to be found and stopped before they can breed.
