I'm sorry to hear that.
As you say, you have fantastic memories with him that you will keep with you for life. I lost my father very suddenly, at a time when I was actively not speaking to him and will never be able to change that - I remember watching the Everton cup final a few years ago on the telly and thinking about how I should have been watching it with him. So cherish the memories of time you spent together, it will be comforting to know that your final game you went to together was such a fantastic occasion.
