it depends on whether the amount of people going into university education bears any relat

ion to the improvement of the lot of ordinary Britons - or are we just requiring young people to now need to obtain a degree for those jobs that have never previously needed them?

i'm all for higher education, but perhaps it should be for the elite - the intellectual elite, not the financial elite?
