I left a pair of shoes on my roof once

Only realised when one of them was hanging on the wiper at the back.

The only problem was that I was getting onto the M25 at the time. I pulled over quick got one shoe, did a trip to the next junction which was the M25/M11 junction went up the M11, back down, back onto the M25 and back to where I had noticed a man staring at me driving and I had heard a thump at the back of the car but wasn't sure what it was.

I found the other shoe where the man was staring at me.
