... that football has been ruined by commercial interests as well. Maybe players don't lose their individual hunger in the same way as boxers once they reach the top, but I think the game is less competitive than it was because of the way TV and advertising money is distributed.

That, of course, is a whole different argument though, and I ought to be doing other things ...
