having had 3 years of free subscription to McAfee as opposed to 7 years of AVG/Zonealarm

and being the 'technical bod' (ha ha) that is turned to when AVG/Zonealarm needs version updating by the in-laws and other family members i can.

i'll still recommend the free route though. neither AVG or Zonealarm* are difficult to install and maintain and my experience with McAfee is they like to try to sell things that are wholely unnecessary and i'm guessing part of that will also be contributing to the ?60

*Zonealarm has been getting more annoying with its nagging to upgrade to its paid for product so if anyone would like to suggest an alternative i'd be really quite happy :-)
