but Spain's style is pretty conservative - dominated by an absolute fear of relinquishing possession. Of course teams are going to get players behind the ball if Spain spend long periods retaining posession in the central area of the pitch - yes, they're technically brilliant but the net result is games that are deathly dull to watch.

I can understand playing like that against a team as good as Germany but I didn't see the need against the likes of Paraguay.
