Well, you go to B&Q, buy some product, come home again, dress yourself suitably for standing among hundreds of angry wasps and then you apply product to nest area.

It's much easier if you can see the sodding thing: the first one I did was the hardest as it was inside the roof of my kitchen extension so I couldn't apply product to nest and instead had to do battle with a zillion stingy things. Bugger, it was: I had someone coming round to help me paint my barge boards and discovered the nest when I went out to put the ladders up.

Anyway, all the others I've done have been outside and it's really straightforward. On the positive side, you do get to look dead brave in front of women. On the negative side, they still won't shag you.

When i say 'you', I mean 'me', obviously.
