I won the cricket quiz at Kenton CC somehow
I was a bit pished as there had been a working party at the Kenton sports club Sunday morning and early afternoon, and I?d been sweating Saturday?s beer off. I had a small bit of lunch, (a roll and salad) and then rushed down for the junior hockey awards at 3.30pm as my younger daughter was in line for a prize.
And then I suddenly saw one the pumps had changed and we now had COBRA LAGER ON TAP!! Oh dear. A few of those on an empty stomach and I was ready to go home, but Mrs KC told me to stay there and have a go at the cricket quiz. ?5 to enter, a bit steep I thought to myself, but as we?re raising cash to get the roof fixed I didn?t mind.
I thought I?d done ok after 50 questions, a few of which I?d messed up and the Cobra had really got to my ability to think straight, but I?m not bad a quizzes and know a bit about cricket history so I had a hunch I wouldn?t be in last place.
As the results were read out, I?d won somehow. (36/50) I was then presented with my prize which I had no idea about. ?40 worth of John Lewis vouchers and some Next Vouchers, ?70 all together I think.
The vouchers are in Mrs KC?s possession as I not trusted to buy clothes or sensible things from the shops and I hate shopping, apart from in the Canary Store. No wonder Mrs KC wanted me to go to the quiz. She told me that she knew about the prize, but I honestly had no idea at all.
