but I don't see how the situation can be remedied in one go. And that's what you seem to want/suggest should have happened.

Preston was the staggering contrast last season. But these problems haven't come about since McNally came on board. And I don't think he could have solved several years of mismanagement by not getting players in, or updating contracts of those that are a potential asset.

You just seem to be so against his actions, but I can only see someone trying to do something sensible, for the first time in years. I am quite certain that if he could have slashed the budget he would have, and I'm quite certain that the net balance on this season's transactions will be favourable even by your exacting standards.
