But Nigel never had any intention of leaving, and just played it smart and turned it to his advantage. As he did again through a combination of Palace's apparent interest in Summer 2003 and that team selection at Northampton early the following season. NW was always at his best when taking the board on for the benefit of the team; it seemed to me he lost a lot of this drive after promotion, and the problems started.
