the stuff about Lambert is irrelevant

he has to protect his players from injury and if the pitch was playable the ref should have let it go ahead - didn't look too good to me and I don't want to lose Holt or Hoolahan to injury.

Bottom line is decision should have been made earlier regardless of what the pitch was like at 2.00 because there was clearly a risk it wasn't going to go ahead. Referees fault for that.

Walsall should have given some kind of indication that the pitch was frozen. Alright, they might have thought they could sort it out by 3.00 but the fact is that the game couldn't go ahead unless they could defrost it. They didn't defrost it. We were told nothing of the pitch being frozen and were told nothing as we waited outside the closed turnstiles.

Whatever Lambert said, referee should have made decision earlier and Walsall should have let us know the game was in doubt.
