but there is a fundamental difference
- tennis (& football) hawkeye shows exactly where the ball bounced
- cricket hawkeye can only predict the path the ball might have taken.
With the greatest will in the world cricket hawkeye can only ever be used as a guide, whereas in tennis & football it can be regarded as definitive.
