Funny old thing that.
A few years back i did some casual work for a company that i had been employed with previously.
The company had kept me on the books so i could do a bit of freelancing when i had the time and the inclination.
I also recruited a couple of other lads on this particular occasion and it turned out, because of an admin error, we all got paid four times for the one job.
I decided to put the money to one side incase of any comeback.
Fast forward six months and all three of us recieved a letter from the said company asking for the money back.
I did the decent thing and sent a cheque back for the full amount as the manager was a good friend and i didn't want to drop him in it.
The other two didn't pay anything back and heard nothing further.
A year later i found myself looking for work as the contract i was working on came to an end.
Step forward my old friend who found me a great job with my previous company.
I'm not sure what happened with the other two guys but my reputation is in tact and has stood me in good stead ever since.
