Probably because 9 times out of 10 he does nothing

He's a "flare" player with no flare and runs backwards more than he does forwards.

In the first half he did well to create a chance for himself then squared the ball rather than go for goal.

Admittedly the guy he squared it too should have done better but Hoolahan should never have been looking to pass it.

Hoolahan is the only player I've ever seen that can take a player on, beat them but never actually get past them.
