When I have to e-mail the guy, I write in French - except

the words I don't know, which I put in English in brackets. I don't speak to him in French, though, for want of confidence.

So, as asked, he does correct my written mails by return, but he's a bit selective: for instance, I asked him why he hadn't corrected my 'croi' with a 'cru' and he said that it didn't matter much. Still f**king wrong, though, I thought.

Also he wants me to use the 'tu' form with him. I've said I'll try, though I've never learned it, and said that I'd actually be happier sticking with 'vous' as it's the one I'll use the most.

Secretly I'm balking at 'tu' in case it leads to bumming.
