Pros and Cons

The level we are at now, and our financial state, means that we are at a rebuilding stage. We can't bring in the fancy dan loanees who, it has generally been agreed, haven't cared/contributed to the club to any measurable extent. We might actually have to look hard at the youth system rather than thinking that we can bring in fancy dan loanees if the boy from Cromer doesn't work out. This, to many, is what getting the club back means - the hope that everyone on the staff wants the club to succeed - or at least get a promotion back to the Championship. So there is a degree of excitement - and some of it of course comes to winning matches. Of course fans stick with a club through thick and thin, but the odd win does make one a happy fan.

The cons are as you've described - the fact that overseeing this potential rebuild are the same pair who contributed to us being in this position in the first place. I hope that the CEO appointment is a good one; it looks to be on paper, but I'm still concerned that it is the appointment wanted by the same pair. So we have to hope that he is strong enough to stand up to them, and strong enough to be considered an asset by any potential buyers - or to be good enough to identify potential buyers. If just the first is true then they may go back to being interested owners, rather than decision makers, which to my mind would be something of a result.

So it's a bit of a mix, and I would rather not be competing with Wycombe for signings or for points, but given that's where we are I suppose it's trying to find the bright side in it all.
