Dont jumpthe gun...

I know many people who have done this.. individually take each lead out, dust the contact areas (not with a hoover) and plug back in.. Try that first, often if you have a bit of dust say inbetween the the connections to your sound card and such it will not give a direct signal to the mother board and will not turn on, and since you have been in there with a hoover its possible you have blown some dust about a little.. I'd try that before jumping the gun on "needing a new pc"
