put more on looking at what they have done and their level of success in similar situations.

Yes they need to have a coherent strategy but a confident bulls**tter could say exactly what they want to hear (Grant) and looking at someones track record after an initially successful period may have been useful in assesing Roeder and how long the term of his contract should have been.
