I don't mind them being word for word
but the delivery needs to be the same, and I think he does it when he knows people have specifically come to see him, paid their money, and are his fans and want to be made to laugh
With this, it's almost like he can't relax to that level and so can't perform like he normally does because it's a television environment
He's at his best in a quiet 200 seated venue, and he's whispering into the microphone, and there's no one else in the room talking
He's already given that impression away by joking that the viewer at home will laugh at the erection gag but the other stuff might go over their heads. I know he's been sarcastic, but the fact he's mentioned it, shows it's in his thoughts and anxiety about doing the programme
