The Preston model
Neil D stated that clubs like Preston have a sugar-daddy who helps cover the low gate-receipts.
But what he doesn't explain is that PNE still spends less than City.
Season 06-07 (all figures from published accounts)
PNE staff costs = ? 7.7 million
NCFC staff costs = ? 14.4 million
Season 07-08
PNE staff costs = 9 million
NCFC staff costs = 13.6 million
So spending ?11 million more on wages didn't prevent us finishing below PNE in both the last 2 seasons.
Now that is what Ben should be asking...
