?600,000 profit, but how much does the Catering Operation really cost NCFC?

Yes it pulls in a healthy profit for NCFC, but does it really cost to run it, and what is the return on the amount actually invested? If it costs ?1 million to run it and it makes ?600,000 that sounds good, but if the real cost is ?5 million, but makes ?600,000 and it ties up cash that could have been spent elsewhere, (heaven forbid ? on the team) is it such good business?

On a related point - the catering operation would have been part of the Turners ?root and branch? review of NCFC. I think that their review made some recommendations about the catering which were to scale it down as it the profit it made didn?t justify the expenditure. One of the result of the cost cutting Lindsay Greensted-Benesch (the manager who replaced Jacquie Cullen) was directly employed by Delia and not by the club.

The scaling down of the catering operation would have represented a huge loss of credibility to Delia so this was knocked back, and one of the Turners main recommendations were ignored.

Maybe true, maybe not, but there has to be some good reason for the Turners abrupt departure from NCFC.
