Roeder's mythical second-season syndrome is a self-fulfilling prophecy that no club he has ever managed has ever got past. Personally, I think both West Ham and Necastle's problems went deeper than Roeder, for some reason he has always managed to pick clubs with a problematic board, which doesn't do him many favours.
