Sure. Point is you don't have to be a Roeder-hater to recognise

that we're in a much worse position, in pretty much every way, than we were at the time of that Palace game.

Then we had parachute payments as well as players like Etuhu, Safri, Earnshaw, Huckerby - players we could never afford now.

Now we have a debt we can barely service, a board who want to get shot of the club, and nothing in the kitty for signings to replace the loans who'll be on their way (and who've barely been good enough to keep us out of the bottom 3).

Seems pretty clear to me that Roeder isn't to blame for much of that. But the idea that we're better off now than we were then, as conker suggests - seems a bit barmy to me.
