debating or talking to someone. Their mind is made up and you're wrong, fullstop.
I rang a call centre up the other day to clarify what someone had told me, but they told me to ring back later to make sure by getting through to the actual team to clarify it.
It's great when you talk to someone like that, they know, but they can't 100% be sure. So I rang up later, got someone who had no idea what I was talking about, and yet at the same time they knew everything
Me "I'd like to know when this was posted, I got a letter saying within 90 days, but your colleague earlier said it was sent on 9th, but could take seven to working days to arrive, but they weren't sure and for me to ring back"
Her "well the letter says 90 days, that's working days, so give me a second (works it out in her head), so minus the weekends, you should receive it around the end of november, I hope that clears that up for you, is there anything else you want to know?"
Me (for the love god) "no thanks, cheers for helping me, bye!"
Rang up straight away, got someone else, they put me through to the team who dealt with it, and they confirmed it was sent on the 9th, like the guy said earlier
The second caller though, how do you compete with someone who's adament they know it all about something they know nothing at all about
Answer, you can't
