I've been in both situations myself at various times, so i've got no interest in being elitist.
The difference, is the ability to still have a rational conversation with people, and if you don't agree with them explain why.
I'm around city fans that don't go often, some are longer term and can tell me stories about watching city when they were younger etc.
In my opinion, these people tend to be much more negative for it, but want the opinion of someone that's seen the game/team.
If I can back my point up I can sometimes cheer them up about city (at the minute that takes some f**king work though as i can rarely cheer myself up).
When you resort to "you don't go what the f**k do you know" you've lost the arguement IMHO.
