If (for the sake of argument) ?20m had already been placed on other horses then a ?1000 bet would hardly register (or would it?) The total size of the market matters.

That said, I imagine that the average size of the market for a mid table champ game isn't that large, so a ?100k bet would move the market considerably. Maybe even a ?1000 bet would move it enough to take others along
