My uncle is a Mormon - traced our family tree back to 6th century Finland.

That said, there is a connection where the spelling of the family surname changes from the 'normal' spelling to a weird one (which I've got), some time in the 18th century, where it says something like 'This connection cannot be proved beyond all reasonable doubt.'

But it's amazing what people can find out ...
